5 Day Miracle Diet

According to Adele Puhn, it is possible to eat healthy and lose weight naturally, if you pay attention to when you’re eating and what you are putting inside you.

The 5 day miracle diet is not about losing ‘X’ number of pounds in 5 days. Rather, it is about achieving sugar balance within the body. This would in turn eliminate cravings and result in natural weight loss.

The author identifies the main culprit that contributes to food cravings and diet failure: food cravings. When the body craves food, it is natural for people to forget all thoughts of eating healthy. The only way to curb cravings is to:

1)    Pay attention to what you eat

2)    Pay attention to when you’re eating your food

According to the author, each meal needs to be taken at a particular time. For instance, breakfast should not be later than thirty minutes of waking, lunch should take place at 1 pm and dinner at 7 pm.

When cravings are controlled, you will no longer desire foods that are rich in calories. When that happens, excess hunger dies naturally and weight loss is inevitable and automatic.

The author also makes several recommendations about the foods consumed. There are food restrictions and certain foods are not permitted. For instance, foods like bananas and yoghurt are to be avoided completely.

The author makes sure that her meal plans include plenty of fruits and vegetables. In this way, the body gets its regular supply of nutrients. Fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber and they keep you feeling full.

Nothing is mentioned about exercise. Any diet plan that is completely dependent on food control for weight loss is skewed because any weight lost in this way can easily come back.

The 5-day miracle diet Review

The 5-day miracle diet does not promise weight loss within 5 days. It only assures readers that they will get rid of cravings at the end of 5 days, provided all the tenets of the diet are followed.

A typical breakfast in this diet could contain a serving of protein and starch. Two hours later, you are allowed to chew on snacks like celery, carrot or apples.

Pros:

-         Recommends intake of healthy foods

Cons:

-         No exercise recommendations

-         Food plans are not provided

-         Does not address exercise at all

-         May lead to cravings

-         No long term weight loss

In Conclusion

The 5-day miracle diet speaks of some weighty findings. But there is nothing new in what the author says. The diet is extremely restrictive and most people may find it hard to follow it.
