The 7 Minute Diet is a fat burning self-help ebook written by Jon Benson, Nathan Hopkins and Kelli Jennings, three nutrition and/or metabolism experts.
This is a program that’s unlike most of the program reviewed on this site because it’s not really a diet plan at all. There is not specific plan you need to follow. The 7 Minute Diet is a collection of 21 daily habits which, according to the program, can help you lose fat faster than ever before, no matter which diet and fitness plan you may be using today.
The 21 habits are called Fat Burning Switches and doing them all could take you under 7 minutes each day. According to the program, these small actions can have great effect on your fat loss result. In fact, the author’s have a weight loss calculator which can estimate how much you may be able to lose with the diet. Click here to use the weight loss calculator
In this review I want to go over what this program has to offer, discuss its pros and cons, and tell you whether it’s worth having or not.
The 7 Minute Diet Concept
The basic concept of this program is that there are many small things that you may or may not be doing that can have a dramatic effect on your weight. These small things can make or break any weight loss process. Even if you workout regularly, you may not be able to get the results you want simply because these small things, these Fat Burning Switches, are not a part of your routine.
The program discusses each of the 21 Fat Burning Switches and shows you, in detail, the kind of effect they may have on you. Each switch carries with it a specific effect in terms of calories or metabolic effect so you can see what each of these switches can actually do for you.
The idea is that you can get vastly faster fat loss results by taking small actions. The more switches you use, the faster results you are likely to have.
Fat Burning Switches
Most of the Fat Burning Switches deal with nutrition, whether specific food items, nutrients you should be consuming, or eating habits you should be following. Some of these switches are not groundbreaking. For instance, most people know that eating eggs and fiber rich foods can help you get a higher metabolism and burn calories faster. They may also know that these help to suppress your appetite. However, the 7 Minute Diet does explain the “why” behind each switch in detail. This is very helpful as you get into the “mindset” of eating healthy and for fat loss.
Many of the 21 switches are less well-known and you will probably find some of them surprising. Incorporating these habits into your regular routine can help you achieve 3 things:
- Boost your metabolism.
- Control your appetite.
- Improve your nutrition.
The great thing about each of these switches is that doing them usually takes less than a minute. However, the name of the diet may still be misleading as there may be some preparation involved in cooking and/or shopping for some of these items that isn’t taken into account. So, the 7 Minute Diet refers to the actual consumption of these foods, beverages, and nutrients.
Pros and cons of the 7 Minute Diet
Pros:
- Backed up by research.
- Easy to implement in your day-to-day life.
- Has a variety of weight loss tips that can have a great effect on your weight loss.
- Written by well-respected experts.
- Can be used with any diet plan or routine.
Cons:
- Not a diet plan in itself but a collection of additional habits and weight loss tips.
- Doesn’t really take 7 minutes each day to implement if you take into account shopping and cooking.
In Conclusion
The 7 Minute Diet is a helpful program that may make it easier for you to lose fat faster than you could have done otherwise. However, it is best used with an additional weight loss and fitness routine and not by itself. I do recommend it, but you may need to invest in another diet plan to use with it.
