Acai Berries have become a huge buzzword in the weight loss industry ever since Dr. Perricone proclaimed them as a powerful source on antioxidants on Oprah who later announced that she incorporated these berries in her diet.
This was enough to spur tremendous interest in these berries and the weight loss properties they may possess. It was rumored that Acai Berries help to reduce hunger as well as boost the fat loss process.
There is no Acai Berry Diet to speak of. There are many brands which offer Acai products and they come in many shapes and forms such as juices, pills, tablets, powders and so on.
Do Acai Berries Really Help You to Lose Weight
Acai berries have many health benefits. The antioxidants within them help to protect your cells from free radicals. This helps to slow down the aging process and reduce the risk of several diseases, some of them deadly. Therefore, it is beneficial to include Acai berries in your regular diet.
Indeed, leading a healthy life can contribute to weight loss in an indirect way because a healthy person is always more energetic and simply functions better. However, such well-being can be achieved even without consuming a single Acai berry by finding other sources of antioxidants.
However, there is nothing to indicate that Acai Berries contribute to weight loss. Yes, they can be a powerful addition to any sensible, healthy diet plan, but they are not some miracle fat burning element in itself.
Despite the many websites and advertisement which claim that you can lose a lot of weight simply by taking these berries in the form of pills or otherwise, the reality is that they will simply not be effective. Even Oprah herself has disassociated herself from these false claims.
You need to understand that because Acai products aren’t prescription drugs but are supplements that they’re not regulated by the FDA so they have a lot more leverage to make over-the-top claims which are often exaggerated if not outright false.

Acai Berry Free Trial Offers Scams
The most common form in which Acai berry products are sold online is through free-trial offers. You get a supply for a certain amount of time and you only need to pay for shipping and handling. But the fine print at the bottom reveals the real deal because once the trial period is over, you’ll begin getting billed for more and more bottles. Often this will cost you $80 or more a month.
The trouble is that often you don’t even know about these future billings and that it’s very hard to cancel. Some people had to cancel their credit cards simply because there was no other way to stop the monthly billings.
I suggest paying for any Acai berry product you buy in full and to avoid anything to do with free-trials. Some of these free trial offers are legit, but it’s very hard to tell which is which.

- Does not help you to develop healthier eating habits
While Acai Berries do have some health benefits you should not base your diet plan on them. It will simply lead to no results whatsoever. You can include Acai Berries in your diet but unless you follow a solid eating and exercise program, you will not shed fat. It’s as simple as that.
