We all know how much time and effort women invest in trying to get their butt in shape. The Brazil Butt Lift – Workout DVD by Beachbody is a workout video program that promises to help you reduce, tone, and shape their bum quickly.
The name of the program brings to mind images of gorgeous Brazilian bikini models with their perfect behinds. The program even has a Brazilian presenter, Leandro Carvalho, a Brazilian trainer who has worked with some South-American models and is known as the “Brazilian Butt Master”, a nickname that shows the brillian marketing that accompanies this product (as well as others by Beachbody).
But is this all about clever marketing or does this product deserve the overall highly positive reviews it has? Let’s see what the Brazil Butt Lift DVDs are all about.
What is the Brazil Butt Lift?
The program itself contains 3 DVDs with 5 total workouts. The workouts combine cardio, dance aerobics (with Latino music), and toning exercises. While the focus of the plan is on the butt, you are working your entire body with this plan. I like this as you need to train your entire body to maximize fat burning. You can’t just work on the buttocks alone.
The toning workouts are also good as they’re very diverse and help you target the glutes from a variety of angles. I actually feel that the fat burning workouts are the key to the plan while the focused toning exercises are just the finishing touch, you do feel like you’re working more on the butt while doing the latter.
The 5 workouts of the Brazil Butt Lift program are:
- Bum Bum – A combination of cardio moves with toning exercises that focus on the lower body. You will also be training your legs and thighs and hip in this workout.
- High and Tight – Using a workout band (comes with the DVDs) and ankle weights, you will do focused strength exercises on the hips, thighs, and buttocks.
- Sculpt – A long and intense total body workout.
- Cardio Axe – A dance based cardio workout that will get you sweating very quickly. Burning lots of calories is what this workout is all about.
- Tummy Tuck – Not really related to the name of the program, this workout is all about toning the abs.
The program comes with various extra tools such as a fat burning foods guide and 6 day diet plan. The plan is, reportedly, similar to what Leandro Carvalho’s model clients use before a shoot. However, it may not be the best way to eat to achieve long lasting fat loss. It may be good for short term results. I believe that the workouts are the main, and best, part of the entire product.
Is it Effective?
The Brazil Butt Lift program does provide a set of fun workouts that women seem to love. I have a feeling that men will also find these challening, especially the dance moves that require a lot of coordination. The workouts do get you to burn calories and the toning exercises do target your buttocks and lower body. Reviews and testimonials of Brazil Butt Lift show that the program works for many women. However, this is not a magic bullet. It requires hard work on your part to get this program to work for you.
In some ways, the fact that this is a “butt focused” product seems to be a marketing angle. The workouts get you to burn fat from all over your body. If you’re ready to put in the work, this program can work for you. It may not be the best in terms of dieting, and you do need to eat right in order to get results, but it is a good workout product.
Brazil Butt Lift is a workout product for women who want to tone their butt. I have no doubt that this is going to be another huge success for Beachbody, similarly to their other products including P90X and Insanity.
