Endermologie Reviews – Does It Work?

by Jonathan

Lower body image of a womanEndermologie is a cellulite treatment which involves doing a deep massage over cellulite ridden body parts.

This massage is done with a specific machine and the procedure is usually administered by dermatologists and plastic surgeons. The machine uses special rollers which feel like a deep tissue massage when they’re pressed against the skin. The massage movement is done along with a suction to improve skin tautness and firmness. Each session of Endermologie takes about 35 minutes.

Endermologie is supposed to redistribute the fat under the skin so it will spread more evenly and reduce the cellulite dimples. This treatment is approved in the US by the FDA. However, the FDA only approved Endermologie as a procedure which temporarily reduces the appearance of cellulite. So, results are not permanent.

This is a crucial point as Endermologie sessions are not cheap and the cost can quickly pile up. You will need to have a session once or twice a week and it is unlikely that you’ll see any results before the 6th treatment.

To get real results, you will need to go through about 15 sessions if not more. While some claim that the results are permanent, many clinics will recommend maintenance treatments. Doesn’t this really mean that the results are indeed temporary?

Does Endermologie Really Work?

cellulite cure bannerThis is a controversial question. The doctors and surgeons who administer Endermologie treatment in their clinics swear by its efficacy and claim that it’s one of the best and proven to work ways to get rid of cellulite.

Other experts are less enthusiastic in their reviews of Endermologie. Some say that the claims surrounding Endermologie are farfetched and are not realistic. In a study I read about on WebMD which examined the effectiveness of Endermologie cellulite treatments, only a third of the women in the study reported any results with the treatment after 24 sessions. Even among the group of women which did feel that their cellulite was reduced, before and after pictures showed a marginal difference at best.

Based on this study, It seems that Endermologie may work for some people but that the results may not be as impressive as you might hope and that they may not be worth the cost of the treatment which can quickly pass the $1,000 total sum.

Endermologie is a treatment which is not for everyone. The procedure is claimed to work best for people under the age of 45 who are generally fit and are not overweight by 30 pounds or more. In addition, you’re required to drink 8 glassed of water each day at the very least. It is also recommended that you maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly.

Endermologie is not a fat loss treatment. The fat doesn’t go away, it is merely dispersed. You need to keep going for treatments to keep it from returning to its previous position.

While Endermologie is not painful and you will likely not suffer from any side effects due to the treatment itself, the cost can quickly become prohibitive. It is unclear how much of the improvement in your cellulite (if any occurs) is due to the treatment itself and not to the diet and exercise routine which you are required to follow along with it.

I believe that the way to get rid of cellulite is with proper exercise and diet. I usually shy away from “effortless” weight loss and fat reduction procedures. As the study in WebMD shows, Endermologie may be an overrated treatment for cellulite. The solution likely lies in the more traditional form of exercise and proper eating.
