In this article I want to talk about various spices that help to burn fat. By adding these spices to your diet, you can boost your metabolism, burn more calories and achieve a faster fat loss.
So, which are these fat burning spices? Let’s go over them one by one…
Cinnamon
As you can see in the picture above, Cinnamon is the first fat burning spice you should include in your diet. Cinnamon helps you burn fat by controlling your blood sugar level and improving insulin sensitivity. By controlling your blood sugar levels, you’re able to naturally suppesss your appetite and avoid overeating. What better way to lose weight than having better control over what goes into your mouth, right?
Regulating your blood sugar levels is just one of the main health benefits of cinnamon which is why I urge you to begin making this spice a regular part of your diet routine as soon as possible. By the way, I learned about the fat burning qualities of cinnamon from Mike Geary, author of the Truth About Abs program (one of my all time favorite nutrition and fitness plans).
Ginger
Ginger has long been one of the weapons of pregnant women who want to stop morning sickness. What is less known is that this spice can also help you burn fat. Ginger does this in 2 ways:
- It helps in the digestion process, reduces bloating, and eases discomfort in the stomach.
- It is a thermogenic food so it creates a short metabolic spike which helps you burn more calories.
All in all, this is an excellent fat burning spice to include in your diet.
Red Chilli Powder
This is another thermogenic spice which can help to raise your body’s temperature and increase the metabolism. Red chillis contain capsaicin, a potent metabolism boosting ingredient.
Cardamom
A popular spice which is often found in East Asian cuisine. Cardamom, similarly to Ginger helps you to digest food more efficiently and also produces a short term metabolic boost.
Turmeric
I learned about this powerful spice and how it helps to digest fats faster in the Fat Burning Kitchen program, a great nutrition plan. Turmeric helps to increase the flow of digestive fluids in the gall bladder and so accelerates the digestion of fat. It is also a rich source of antioxidants and provides a variety of additional health benefits, making it a super-food that you should definitely eat on a regular basis.
In Conclusion
Eating these spices alone will not make you lean. You still need to workout regularly and to follow a healthy fat burning diet plan. However, each of these spices has many health benefits and you’d be wise to include them in your daily meals.

John, with all the spices you’ve talked about, I have a question. I have gone to see a Ear,Nose, and Throat specialist and he says I have Acid Reflux disease. He wants me to take Prilosec, but the box says only to take for no more than 3 weeks. I have used it and it does work, but I don’t like taking any drugs and besides that it come right back after I stop taking it. Is there any thing that you can recommend, even exercise. This only comes on after I eat. I exercise 2 to 3 times a week.
Thanks, Robert
