Michelle Obama has certainly brought a new and refreshing ambiance to the White House. The 44 year old First Lady has become a role model for women across the world, not only for her brains and academic accomplishments but also due to the way she looks. Being a mother of two, she has shown that it is indeed possible to keep in great shape after childbirth.
Michelle Obama’s Arms are her most well known “trademark”. There seem to not be an ounce of extra fat on them and the First Lady’s choice of sleeveless shirts show that she and her stylists are very much aware of how good she looks.
Millions of women all around the world are wondering how she does it and how they too can get arms like Michelle Obama. In this article I want to share what I know about how the First Lady does it and provide some extra tips of my own.
Michelle Obama Workout
According to various publications, it seems that the workout done by the First Lady is fairly simple:
- High intensity cardio to burn off as much body fat as possible.
- A short but intensive arm workout consisting of hammer curls, tricep pushdowns, and other arm exercises.
That’s it.
Naturally, she also maintains a healthy diet, is an active person, and is conscious of her health. She may also be genetically gifted but it seems that hard and dedicated work do play a big role in how great she looks.
How can you get arms like Michelle Obama?
The first thing you need to realize is that arm exercises will not be enough. While you can strengthen your arm muscles and tone them quite a bit, you will never get rid of the arm fat by doing so. You can’t lose fat from a specific body part by doing targeted exercises. You need a more general approach to fat loss, focusing on full body workouts and intensive cardio training. Don’t worry about your arms specifically, try to get as lean as possible.
Second, you do need to do targeted arm exercises to tone your arms. Don’t worry about doing “masculine” exercises. There is really no such thing. A lot of women settle for mediocre workouts as they’re terrified of getting bulky muscles which will make them look manly. In all likelihood, there is nothing to worry about: most women are not genetically inclined to develop bulky muscles unless they go to great lengths to do so. Even if you do hard exercises like hammer bicep curls and tricep pushdowns like the First Lady does, you will not have anything to worry about, you will build muscle tissue, but it will not be bulky.
You won’t get any noticeable results if you don’t work hard at the gym, so stop worrying and get on with the workout.
Third, you won’t get anywhere without a solid and healthy diet. No matter how much you workout, unless you also watch what you eat you will never burn off enough fat to get sleek and well shaped arms.
I want to stress that you don’t need a specific workout to get such arms. There are more than 2,3 exercises which can somehow magically get you good looking arms. What you need to do is to develop a routine which is filled with high intensity cardio workouts, full body strength exercises, an active life, and a healthy diet which is focused on fat loss.
