I know people are worried about excess fat around the thighs, abs, hips, arms, and even back, but the knees just never struck me as a body part that could accumulate fat.

However, as this is a topic that seems of interest, I decided to write this short article for those readers who want to lose fat around the knee and have shapelier legs. I hope that this article will steer you in the right direction and help you achieve your goals.

So, how do you go about trying to lose knee fat? Is there any specific course of action or exercises, other than an expensive liposuction, that you can perform that will help you?

As you may know, using exercise to pinpoint fat loss is nearly impossible. You just can’t make your body burn fat from a body part that you want. The fact that you train a specific muscle does not mean that fat loss will occur in the vicinity of that muscle. The body uses energy it has stored all over. It basically burns fat away from wherever it pleases with no connection to which body part you train.

This means that I can’t give you any exercises to get rid of knee fat. I don’t know of any and, as I said, it’s a virtual impossibility, really.

What you may be able to do is tone your legs and the area surrounding your knees by performing focused exercises such as lunges, squats, leg extensions, and so on. These exercises may help to make the area around your knees appear firmer and tauter so they’ll look less fat even if there isn’t any spot fat reduction occurring.

To really lose knee fat you need to shed body fat in general. By doing so you may find that the fat around your knees is reduced as well. The way to lose body fat is to engage in full body strength training and high intensity cardio workouts. You must also follow a healthy diet plan that allows you to feed your body with what it needs and accelerates fat loss.

  2. The way I lost knee fat was simple. Previously I was jogging, stair master, elliptical at least 60 min a day 6 days a week with plenty of squats and lunges and circuit workouts with a trainer.. I was told by a foot ball player that I should start doing the bike at least 30 min a day.. Sure enough in 2 weeks I had lost 3 inches from both knees amazing…..
