It seems that there’s a new successor to the acai berry diet scams of the two previous years: the Maqui Berry, straight from Chile.

It seems that this has become a sure way to make some money on the backs of unsuspecting people who want to lose weight: you take a plant, herb, or berry from a far away country, stress its good qualities, and claim that it can help people suppress appetite or simply lose weight faster.

The tragic thing is that these marketing ploys work, one time after another.
The Maqui Berry, known as Aristotelia chilensis, comes mainly from Chile.  The berries can be quite tasty and they do contain antioxidants, part of the reason why this berry has been mentioned on the news.

The Truth and the Baseless Claims

The truth is that Maqui Berry supplementation can be healthy for you. The high content of antioxidants may help you ward off certain diseases, fight and delay the effects of aging, and keep you healthier. I see no reason not to use these supplements for these reasons only.

However, do NOT fall for any of the claims that this berry can help you reduce appetite or lose weight in some magical way. There is simply no basis for these claims and, I suspect, some of the sites offering Maqui Berry supplements as a way to lose weight, provide a low quality product and use dishonest promotional methods to sell the as much as they can.

If you do want to get more antioxidants in your diet, you can buy a maqui berry supplement. Make sure to choose one which contains a high level of these berries. Many supplements contain just a small amount of Maqui and are mostly made of a bunch of cheaper and less healthy ingredients.

In addition, do NOT buy into any monthly supply plan of these supplements. I suspect that many of these services will soon turn out to be shady operations which charge you over and over again without stopping. It’s much better to buy such supplements, at a low price, from a reputable site such as Amazon. Here is a low priced Maqui supplement you can use.

Do not be tempted by the empty promises of people who make this berry be something it’s not. It will not help you lose weight or burn fat. There is simply no reason why it should.

Maqui Berries may be healthy for you. They may provide additional antioxidants which are good for you. However, there is no reason why they would help you lose weight. Do not fall for any weight loss claims connected with this supplement. Most likely, you will be severely disappointed.
