The Medifast Diet is one of the most successful weight loss plans in the world. This is a low calorie weight loss plan and the reported results are that you can lose 2-5 pounds each and every week.
It is one of the very few weight loss plans which has been clinically tested. In a test run by Johns Hopkins University, the diet proved to produce a massive weight loss of around 60 pounds in average in men and women combined.
Medifast is a meal replacement plan. You order specially designed meal replacement packages which are delivered to your home. There is a lot of variety of packages available accommodating people with different needs like diabetics and the like. This makes Medifast a low hassle plan since all you need to do is simply get the meal replacement packages and eat according the plan.
The Medifast 5 and 1 Plan
Medifast requires eating regularly throughout the day. This is often called ‘grazing’: you eat small amounts every 2-3 hours. 5 of the meals/snacks are made up of the packages which you order from Medi fast and the 6th meal is up to you to make. This 6th meal (which you can eat any time you want during the day) is called the ‘lean and green’ meal because it is made up of a small amount of lean meat (there are replacements for vegetarians) and a salad. During each day, you need to drink 64oz of water at the very least.
The daily calorie consumption is 800-1000 calories in total. This is a low calorie diet, the kind of which I often don’t recommend, but as this diet has been proven, clinically, to work, I make an exception in this case. For a short time, you can get 2 weeks free of products from Medifast by going to this special discount link: Get 2 weeks of Medifast FREE!
There is a great variey of food in the Medifast diet. There are over 70 different pre-packaged meal replacement items and you can find something you like very easily. The diet makes sure to include a healthy amount of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to make sure the diet is healthy although it is low in calories.
Once you lose the weight you wanted to shed, there is a maintenance stage in which you gradually go back to eating ‘normally’. However, the Medifast diet recommends that you continue eating a few Medifast diet products on a regular basis to make sure the weight stays off.

- Medifast Has a lot of great testimonials by men and women
Cons:

In Conclusion
Medifast is a weight loss plan which was made primarily for people who have a lot of weight to lose. I don’t recommend it for people with 5-10 pounds to shed. However, if you do have a lot of weight to lose, then this diet can indeed prove very helpful.

The biggest problem with this diet is that it is mainly chemicals that you are eating. It is full of MSG. I had major migraines from this diet plan as I am highly allergic to MSG. The food also is just plain nasty.
