Vic has become a leading expert online and his intense fitness plan, which I’ve been working with recently, has been used by thousands of people.
I hope you find this interview useful.
Question: I’m very excited to have as my guest in today’s interview, Vic Magary, author of the 31 Day Fat Loss Cure. How are you doing these days, Vic?
VM (stands for Vic Magary): I’m doing great! Thanks for having me.
Question: What can you tell us about your background in the fitness and fat loss field?
VM: I’ve been training clients and helping people lose fat since 2001. Through those years of experience I’ve found out what works for losing fat, specifically over the course of 31 days.
Question: Did your experience as a martial arts fighter and a soldier in the army have any effect on the way you teach and practice fitness?
VM: Oh, yes. Especially when I train clients in person I’m pretty no-nonsense and make sure to keep the client working hard and I don’t accept anything less than their best. As far as helping people through the 31 Day Fat Loss Cure, I did my best to keep the workouts intense but short – efficiency is the trademark of any good fighter. I also incorporated exercises that would not only help burn fat but also increase fitness to help people function better in their day to day activities.
Question: What made you create the 31 Day Fat Loss Cure?
VM: I wanted to make a program using my best fat loss methods, that people could do either at home or at the gym, and I wanted to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
Question: Did you imagine it will ever become as successful as it has?
VM: I have to admit that I’m still pretty shocked when I get email from Australia, or India, or even Botswana from people who have had success with the program. It feels good to help people the world over.
Question: What are the basic principles of the program and what would you say are the main reasons it gets results?
VM: The basic principles are short but intense exercise sessions combined with a diet that focuses on lots of vegetables, some lean meat and fruit, and a small amount of nuts. The program is effective because it incorporates the way we had to train and eat before the advent of technology.
Question: What kind of results have people gotten from the 31 Day Fat Loss Cure? Can you share a success story that impressed you?
VM: It’s not uncommon to have people lose over 20 pounds with the program. And I’m pretty sure the most anyone has reported to me is just over 35 pounds lost in the initial 31 days. In fact I guarantee that people will lose at least 10 pounds on the program.
Question: Is your program equally effective for men and women?
VM:Absolutely! There is no difference in the workouts due to gender. All workouts can be scaled according to someone’s current fitness level, but it doesn’t matter at all if they are a man or a woman.
Question: One thing which impressed me about your program is the special workout plan for people in their 60s or with injuries. Most programs don’t have such a component. What can you tell us about this workout plan and what made you create it?
VM: I created this part of the program because I was receiving email from several people who were either very out of shape or had reached an age where they had some long standing injuries that prevented jumping right into the standard workouts. I personally read and reply to all email, so I appreciate it when people let me know their challenges.
Question: You follow what is known as the Primal Diet. Why is this the way to eat for fat loss and health?
VM: Yes, sometimes it is called “Primal” or “Paleo” or even the caveman diet. This is the best way to eat because it’s the way that we had to eat before the advent of technology – and by technology I’m including agriculture. Before humans learned how to convert wheat and other grains to edible forms we could only eat things that could be ingested raw like fruit, vegetables, and nuts, or cooked over an open flame like meat. This style of eating takes us back to the way nature intended our diet to be.
Question: Is it difficult to eat Primal and to find the right foods for it?
VM: Not at all. The key is to stay on the perimeter of the grocery store. The produce section and the meat counter are always on the perimeter and all of the processed and prepackaged foods are always in the aisles in the middle of the grocery store.
Question: How do whole grain foods and corn, which makes up a lot of the modern diet, fit in with the Primal eating plan?
VM: In short, they don’t fit in. But I have found that most people can get away with a small serving in the meal immediately following their workout.
Question: How does it feel to have helped thousands of people to change their body and lose weight?
VM: It feels great! I love helping people and am very happy to have helped many people down the path of health, fitness, and weight loss.
Question: Do you have any other programs which you’re working on?
VM: I always have something new that I’m working on. I’m working on finishing up a special program to help people get in shape for summer and one other major program that I plan on releasing by the end of the year.
