Double Edged Fat Loss is one of the most intriguing fitness and fat loss programs I’ve seen this year. It was created by Dr. Kareem Samhouri, a doctor of physical therapy and a fitness trainer who specializes in correct workout techniques, posture, alignment, and many more health issues.
After I first got my hands on a copy of DEFL, as it’s known for short, I knew I wanted to get to know Dr. Kareem and grill him about his program and methods. I contacted him and we struck up an online friendship which I am very happy to have developed.
Besides being able to get his advice on all sorts of fitness issues, this friendship led to the following interview in which I asked Dr. Kareem many questions about his approach to fitness and fat loss (read the Dr. Kareem Samhouri Interview here).
The Double Edge Fat Loss 2.0 program is a program worth exploring in detail. I know that a lot of people are still wondering whether or not this is the right program for them. This is why I decided that to make this program the topic of the new Diet Q&A article (even though DEFL is more of a fitness program than a diet plan).
I hope you’ll find these questions and answers valuable and helpful…
Double Edged Fat Loss Questions and Answers
Question: How much weight can I lose with this program?
Answer: I’d rather think about this in terms of fat loss and not weight loss. You can burn off a ton of fat with these workout routines. The special workouts in this plan can seriously melt away some fat. In terms of weight loss, I don’t really think there’s a limit to how much you can lose, just don’t expect to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks or anything crazy like that.
Question: How does this program work?
Answer: DEFL is a fitness program which is based on neuro fitness and fat loss training, a special form of workouts which Dr. Kareem Samhouri developed or perfected, if you will. You get a complete exercise video library which is full of hundreds of exercises which are all performed by Dr. Kareem to make sure you do them perfectly. You also get a workout plan that you need to follow. You just follow with the program, tone your body and burn body fat quickly.
Question: What does neuro fat loss training mean?
Answer: According to Dr. Kareem, and I spoke with him extensively about this, neuro fitness is a way to improve the flow of your neural signals, from your central nervous system to your muscles. When you improve your neural flow, you can build lean muscle faster, burn more calories, and get faster and more impressive results from your workouts.
Question: Is this hard to do? Are the exercises complicated?
Answer: Let me start this answer by saying that, in general, you always need to do intensive and challenging workouts to lose weight and build lean muscle tissue. Anyone who’s telling you differently is probably trying to sell you empty promises.
That being said, the workouts in the Double Edged Fat Loss program are not harder or more complicated then those found in other programs. It’s the great attention to proper form and the order by which these exercises are done and the choice of exercises in each workout routine that provides you with this neuro fitness benefit.
Question: Do I really need all this scientific way of training to lose weight?
Answer: The short answer is no. There are plenty of weight loss programs that you can shed some pounds with. However, working out according to DEFL has other benefits besides weight loss. Remember that Dr. Kareem is a physical therapist, so these exercises are designed to be good for your posture, the balance of your body parts, to reduce chance of injury and so on. This is not your ‘run of the mill’ fitness plan. It is special in many ways.
Question: Can I use this program to treat injuries, him being a physical therapist?
Answer: I’m not sure. I don’t think this is what the program was intended for.
Question: You seem to like this guy a lot, what are you, friends?
Answer: As I said, I know Dr. Kareem professionally ever since I first heard about Double Edged Fat Loss. I like him a lot, it’s true. I’ve never met him, actually, I only spoke with him online and via email. However, he gave me the impression of being one of the nicest guys you could know and his program is top notch (he gave me access). I’m just telling it like it is.
